Wu-Wei Asynchronous video email system
W.A.V.E.S. is an acronym for Wu-Wei Asynchronous Video Email System. The Term Wu-Wei comes from Taoism and refers to the principle of ‘Not Doing’ and in this respect I use W.A.V.E.S. when I am ‘not doing’ my daytime job!
W.A.V.E.S. was developed in response to my desire to teach meditation alongside my career as an emergency surgeon. As anyone who has met me will know, I am always keen and available to teach meditation. Having studied for years before having that ‘aha’ moment, I empathise with those of you, especially in the beginning who have difficulties or questions relating to meditation. Everyone (without exception) can meditate, however starting a daily practice can be challenging. The usual questions and comments are ‘I can’t meditate – my mind is too busy’ – the answer to that is ‘Well, you just did – well done!”. It is an important recognition that most of us overlook; the mind is always busy, always looking for the next thing to do, the next thought to make a story out of. You may have questions relating to timing of meditation, mantras and other adjuncts or feel you have reached a block in your practice.
I will always answer any genuine question relating to meditation, mindfulness or nonduality but
